Wallace Equity Partners is an advisory firm dedicated exclusively to renewable and alternative energy. Our founder, partners and team bring experience from some of the world’s leading financial institutions and has supported companies across the full energy value chain.

We provide strategic and financial advice to renewable asset developers and operators on mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and capital raising. In addition, we guide large corporations in advancing their ESG goals through renewable energy procurement (PPAs) and direct investments in clean energy projects. Our sector expertise spans traditional wind and solar, as well as emerging areas such as battery storage, renewable natural gas, hydrogen, carbon capture, and environmental attribute markets.

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Martin brings deep expertise in infrastructure development and private equity, with a distinguished track record in renewable energy and emerging markets. As a Co-Founder and former Chief Financial & Risk Officer of JCM Power, Martin was instrumental in scaling the company’s global operations and investment portfolio. He led the development and financing of over $500 million in renewable energy projects, including a $100 million portfolio of solar PV developments in Ontario and a $400 million+ pipeline of wind and solar projects across Asia and Africa.

During his tenure, Martin supported the expansion of JCM’s team to over 80 corporate and project staff across offices in Canada, Pakistan, Malawi, and South Africa. He also oversaw the hiring of over 800 construction personnel during the 2020–2021 build-out phase of a utility-sized solar facility in Malawi.

Martin James Knox Ritchie FCA, MBA, MSC

Martin served on JCM Power’s Board of Directors and Investment Committee, where he played a central role in evaluating and approving major project investments. He was responsible for the company’s global risk management and compliance functions, with a focus on implementing industry-leading anti-bribery and corruption protocols in high-risk jurisdictions.

His leadership helped ensure compliance with both Canadian and international regulatory standards. In 2015, Martin was appointed Co-Chair of the Canadian Centre of Excellence for Anti- Corruption, where he continues to represent the interests of medium-sized enterprises across the country.

A Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Martin has a diverse background spanning accounting, capital markets, risk management, forensic accounting, and renewable energy development. His international experience includes roles in the UK, Canada, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Russia, Estonia, Vietnam, Pakistan, and Malawi. In his spare time, he enjoys all racquet sports, skiing, hiking and spending quality time with his wife and four children.
